Nal
Sarovar Bird Sanctaury is the largest
wetland bird sanctuary in Gujarat and one of the largest
in India. Nal Sarovar harbours a variety of flora and
fauna. Thousands of migratory waterfowls flock to Nal
just after the monsoon. The shallow area and ponds on
the outer fringes of the lake attract the wading birds
that feed in the shallow waters.

Vedanthangal
bird sanctuary is located in Kanchipuram
district, 85km from Chennai. It is the oldest bird sanctuary
in the country and has been in existence presumably
for more than 200 years. Vedanthangal is a bird watchers
paradise, especially during the winter season, when
birds in a myriad of colours and kinds descend on the
lake in hordes.
